Carlene and I continue with our USLHS Southern Maine & New Hampshire Tour with Episode 2. This show consist of day 2 & day 3 of our tour. We begin day 2 with Portland Head Lighthouse, one of the most visited & photographed lighthouse. We are allowed inside and all the way up to the lantern room and outside. Next up, Spring Point Ledge lighthouse. Another light we were allowed inside and up to the top. We also saw Fort Pebble and Fort Gorges in the distance. Just down the road Portland Breakwater Lighthouse, "Bug Light", with another tour inside and passed by Liberty Ship Memorial. We end the day with a short cruise to Burnt Island Lighthouse where we walk the grounds, enter the lighthouse keepers dwelling and climbed the lighthouse up to the lantern room and outside for some great views.
Day 3 we are in Rockland, Maine and visit the Maine Lighthouse Museum, which has the largest collection of fresnel lens. Then it was off to Owls Head Lighthouse, with a tour inside and up to the lantern room. Next, Owls Head Transportation Museum and we end the day at Marshall Point Light with a tour of the museum and grounds.
