Jokingly referred to as "the Cheddar Olympics", four identical homemade cheeses competed for the title of "best tasting cheddar." Each cheddar was treated differently after being made. Their "after-care” (properly referred to as “affinage”) was either: - vacuum-packed - waxed - cloth-bandaged (the traditional technique for cheddar) - left natural (with occasional brine washing). Mary Anne wanted to find out how these surface treatments would affect the flavour & texture of her homemade cheddars, so she invited 8 friends to judge her 4 cheeses based on their taste, texture, appearance and aroma. After taste-testing each cheese, the judges scored each cheese from best to worst. Which cheddar do you think was voted the overall favourite/best tasting? Which cheddar do you think was voted the least favourite? Watch the video to find out the surprising results!
