(will put more people here later if you were there during my grind just tell me and ill probably put you here)
holy shit i cant believe this grind is finally over. i started playing this tower with green when block and skitsuna were still grinding it in october and i just wanted to see how far i could get at first. (this was before i beat toqd). it took me around 2 weeks to get to 5 and then after that i took a break from the tower to beat toqd. i didnt play it for a while as i was busy trying to find a different new hardest to go for since i didnt think i was skilled enough for tosf yet. i did eventually come back to it and got to 6 twice in the same run but that was the last progress i would have for a while. after my first 6 fail i could rarely ever get to 6 and i was still inconsistent at floors 1 - 3. i would have occasional 6 fails but i never was really consistent at getting to 6 until later in the grind. i did get to 7 though after 10 six fails and actually managed to get past the first jump but fell on a decently hard wrap. i was definitely getting more consistent at the tower and was good at the first 3 floors but i still struggled on 6. my next progress would shock me though as i managed to fluke from halfway through 7 to FLOOR 9. i still have no idea how i did this because i sucked at floor 8 in practice at the time and combined with nerves it seemed basically impossible for me to fluke 8 but i managed to somehow. this was probably for the worse though as it took me a whole month to get back to 9 but after that second 9 run i somehow got really consistent at the tower and would manage to get one nine run each session. this gave me a confidence boost in beating the tower as i knew that if i could get to 9 every session i could definitely beat it soon which was my biggest worry before i got consistent. i somehow managed to fail the last jump of 9 outside twice and both fails were rng imo. one time it didnt let me in the gap even though i aligned pretty well and the second time my scroll wheel didnt work when i tried to zoom out so i walked off the ladder. on my first and last 9 inside run i failed the cylinder wrap which i saw coming and then 5 hours later i got back to 9 inside and fluked the tower from there. i was genuinely so shocked after fluking from the cylinder wrap even though i knew it was a possibility since the first part of tosf i ever practiced was 9 inside and it was the section i had practiced the most. i also managed to get the world record and i didnt even realize it until someone told me. this will probably remain as my longest grind ever unless i go for something way above the top 1 rn buts there no way in hell im gonna do that. i dont have much to say anymore and this description is already long enough so ill just end it here and get to the fails
