Best Preparation Material, Books and Tips to Clear IAS Exam:

The UPSC plan of exams for IAS has two stages where the first one is the civil services preliminary examination and civil services main examination with interview. Planning Method:
Starting early for preparation is always good along with planning a schedule for a sure shot for success. An individual needs to read more and more for IAS exam, reading a lot of newspapers, economic survey and all NCERT text books are beneficial. General studies and aptitude sections should be practiced well and revised two times before exams. Another smart way for preparing is by making short notes which can help you revise quickly. Time Management for IAS EXAM:
Time management from both preliminary and main exam of IAS is mandatory to complete and revise the syllabus. Make a schedule of all the essential activities in a day. Studies should be allotted for about 8 to 10 hours a day including coaching sessions. Depending upon your background you can dedicate 2 hours every day for General paper II and rest for paper I. for ones who decide to dedicate more time for paper II can do so and allot 3 to 4 hours a day. Make it a habit to read newspapers every day and make short notes of them. Allot one hour for reading current affairs paper and other magazines like Kurukshetra and Yojana. The remaining 4 to 5 hours can be dedicated for general studies paper I. divide time as per the subjects and start reading. Setting deadlines and targets are important as you can complete small tasks and syllabus can be completed. Also remember to have a good sleep for about 6 to 8 hours a day. Stop studying 24 hours before the exam as it would make you anxious.
