The larger sibling to the Douglas DC-10, the McDonnell Douglas MD-11 entered service with Finnair in December 1990. Its last passenger service took place in October 2014 with KLM, effectively ending 24 years of taking travelers around the world. About 200 airframes were delivered, and the type remains in service with a small handful of cargo operators.
