In this episode of Critiquing Creationism, I examine a recent publication in Answers in Genesis' "peer-reviewed" Answers Research Journal that claims horses were specifically designed by God to be ridden by humans. I break down the article's weak scientific arguments and flawed theological reasoning, highlighting how it exemplifies common problems in young-earth creationist interpretations of biological design.
I explore how the authors confuse functional adaptation with divine intent, and discuss why their simplistic view of design fails to account for the complex history of horse evolution - even within a young-earth timeline. The paper's publication also raises serious questions about the academic standards of creationist research journals.
Chapters:
0:00 Introduction
2:05 Overview of the ARJ Article
4:20 Biblical Arguments Used
8:45 Problems with Design Arguments
15:30 Function vs Design in Biology
21:40 The Horse "Kind" Problem
28:15 Divine Action and Horse Evolution
35:50 Final Thoughts on ARJ Standards
This video is part of my ongoing series examining young-earth creationist claims and arguments from a scientific and theological perspective. As always, I aim to maintain respectful but direct critique while pointing out logical flaws and lack of evidence in creationist reasoning.
