Hello folks! Chris TEA here and for this journey to art, we're going to a festival in Kagoshima! The Ogionsaa Festival takes place every summer in Kagoshima City. It is one of the biggest festival in southern Japan. Thousands of participants parade the streets. Portable shrines are carried around the downtown streets of Kagoshima City. The festival has been held for nearly 400 years since early in the Edo Period to ward off disease and pray for prosperity.
See the many shrines and sweaty bodies run through town wearing fundoshi (japanese loincloth)! Hope you don't mind some rear end skin view!
After the tour, hope you can stick around for a quick drawing inspired from this tour!
Kagoshima is still a best kept secret because it's not close to the big tourist area. And that's the beauty of it! Come explore the many wonderful places in Kyushu and watch me improve my art through self learning.
