The lyrics of this profound composition 'Karman Ki Gati Nyaari' are in Brij Bhasha probably written by Surdas's disciple or disciples who attributed their work to the pen name of 'Sur Shyam'.The poet represents the sentiments of the Gopis(followers of Lord Krishna) as they pine for Krishna's attention. Udho is the message-deliverer of the gopis who convey everything to Lord Krishna.
The verses of this well-penned composition give examples of the various ways and styles of Karma and how it works, raising "whys" in varying forms and concluding to the theory of our actions and the recurring births, which is reincarnation. 'Karman' is derived from Sanskrit word for 'Karma'. Karma is the final verdict, the good and evil consequences of our actions. Since man has the ability to reason and think, that is why he is accountable for the actions he perceive.
Karma works in very odd ways. The Egret is blessed with splendid white wings though it is quite talentless and on the other hand the Koel with the skill to sing so melodiously has a plain black appearance.
The mighty Elephants have little eyes and on the other hand the Deer is known for its vibrant big eyes and yet roams in the forest wilderness totally unaware about it.
Some green plants bear lovely fruits and yet there are others that don't. Karma definitely works in very strange ways, beyond our imaginations.
