White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has slammed an Associated Press reporter.
The exchange came during a White House press briefing where Ms Leavitt was asked about the Trump administration’s tariffs.
A reporter from the Associated Press questioned Ms Leavitt if she had “ever paid a tariff”.
Ms Leavitt responded to the journalist with a heated response, claiming tariffs are a hike on foreign countries and a tax cut for Americans.
“When we have fair and balanced trade, which the American people have not seen in decades, as I said at the beginning, revenues will stay here, wages will go up and our country will be made wealthy again,” she said.
“It’s insulting you are testing my knowledge of economics, and the decisions that this president has made, I now regret giving a question to the Associated Press”.
