Sharing today the recipe of Kathal Do Pyaza!
Kathal ki sabji is enjoyed all over the country in different ways.
And also, Jackfruit is a fruit that is enjoyed both as a fruit and as a vegetable too!
So today, I have shared a Kathal ki sabji that is unique.
This kathal ki sabji is called kathal do pyaza because onion is added to it in 2 different ways- one finely chopped and second, sliced onions.
The chopped onions are browned to give a bhuna flavor to the kathal ki sabji and the sliced onions are added later to give it a sweetness.

Recipe :
Kathal do Pyaza
Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Serves: 3-4
Ingredients:
1 kg kathal (unripe jackfruit)
4 large onions
4 tomatoes
½ cup mustard oil
2 bay leaves
3-4 green cardamoms
2 black cardamoms
1 tsp pepper corns
5-6 cloves
4 garlic cloves
2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
Salt to taste
½ tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp garam masala powder
2 tsp Kashmiri red chili powder
Salt to taste
Coriander leaves
Method:
Peel & cut the jackfruit into 2” cubes.
Finely slice 2 onions.
Finely chop 2 onions.
Slice the tomatoes.
Pressure cook with 1 cup water for 1 whistle. Drain.
Heat the mustard oil in a pan. fry the jackfruit pieces till lightly golden. Remove.
Add the whole spices to the pan. add the chopped onions and sauté till golden. Add the powdered spices, ginger garlic paste and mix well.
