I always imagined landing at the airport in Kathmandu, Nepal and then embarking on a long trek into the Himalayas. A large part of the tourists who come to the country go along the mountain paths. We only had a few days before boarding a plane to Paro, Bhutan, which was the main purpose of our trip. But I am grateful that we had a chance to walk around Kathmandu for a short while. I will definitely come back to Nepal again to be in the mountains.
The fatigue of the long journey had weighed on my legs and body, but the thirst for new sights and tastes was stronger this time as well. We started with a portion of buffalo momos and a hot sauce that was rich in flavors. This dish is a favorite here in Nepal, it is also eaten in Tibet. Momos here are like a snack. They eat them both in the morning and in the evening, and at any time. There are different filling options and different shapes.
And since we only had two incomplete days in Kathmandu before our flight to Bhutan, Miro and I decided not to make a strict plan and take it easy with our walks around the city. The first night, so much water poured down from the sky that it seemed to me that it would rain forever. But "nothing is permanent in this life" and in the morning it was no longer raining and we were with our new Nepalese friend and our guide. We visited some of the most famous and holy places in Kathmandu. We were at a place where cremation takes place. We walked around the central square in Patan. We enjoyed the monkeys and tried very tasty Nepalese food. It was an intense and full of experiences day.
The sequel video will be released next Sunday.
Don't miss it!
