Video Not Working? Fix It Now

Retro Odyssey ep.016 An IN-DEPTH review, analysis, and retrospective of Kid Icarus for the Nintendo Entertainment System and the Famicom Disk System. Kid Icarus's Japanese Name: (光神話 パルテナの鏡) Hikari Shinwa: Parutena no Kagami; "Light Myth: Palutena's Mirror") This is an exhaustive look at a game that if not for Smash Bros seems lost to time. In this video I'll cover everything in the game, the structure of the game, my personal experience, and how I feel it stacks up to its contemporaries from the context of a first-time player who didn't grow up with an NES. This one was particularly taxing to produce, but I really hope you enjoy it! 💗 I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments! --------------------------------- ~ Kid Icarus: Angel Land Story ~ --------------------------------- Title: Kid Icarus (Hikari Shinwa: Parutena no Kagami) ("Light Myth: Palutena's Mirror") Platform(s): Famicom Disk System, NES Release Date(s): JP: December 19th, 1986 Europe: February 15th, 1987 North America: July 1987 Developer: Nintendo Research & Development 1 Publisher: Nintendo Director: Satoru Okada Producer: Gunpei Yokoi Designers: Toru Osawa (Solo?), Yoshio Sakamoto Artists: Toru OsawaComposer: Hirokazu Tanaka Genre: Platformer / Action Adventure / Shooter ~ note: all gameplay footage for 𝑹𝒆𝒕𝒓𝒐 𝑶𝒅𝒚𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒚 is recorded using original hardware ~ LINKS Music: https://outmind.bandcamp.com/ Video About Development History I Mentioned: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AW2mu1miIgY Timestamps: 0:00 - introduction 1:03 - overview 13:22 - items 17:03 - enemies 20:33 - stages & my experience 30:17 - final thoughts Next up: Layla (レイラ) ~ if you would like to support the show: https://ko-fi.com/hprshredder/ ~ #KidIcarus #NES #Nintendo
