Late into September 16th, 2023, a 35-year-old trans woman, Sherlyn Marjorie, finished her drag show. The hours passed, into the evening of the very next day, but Sherlyn was not heard from again as friends and family repeatedly tried to get in touch.
Immediately, the Albuquerque Police Department was contacted and Sherlyn was reported missing as search parties desperately tried to find her.
After a month of interviews, search warrants, and going through all the surveillance footage in the area, investigators finally had a suspect — 29-year-old Jose Mendoza Espinoza.
