RUTH 1: BITTERNESS (of Naomi) AND UNWAVERING LOVE (of Ruth) - “He will renew your life and sustain you in old age. Indeed, your daughter-in-law, who loves you…” (v. 15, Ruth 1:20, *Ruth 1:16&17, Romans 8:38&39)

RUTH 2: POVERTY (of Ruth) AND FAVOR (of Boaz) – “Why have I found favor with you…?” (Ruth 2:10, Ruth 2:12-13, II Corinthians 8:9)

RUTH 3: HUMBLE REQUEST (of Ruth) AND REDEEMING WORK (of Boaz) – “Blessed be the Lord who has not left you with a family redeemer…” (v. 14, Ruth 3:9, Ruth 2:12, Deuteronomy 32:11 [Also Ruth 2:20, 3:12, 3:13, 4:1, 4:3, 4:4, 4:6, 4:8, 4:14], I Peter 1:18&19)

RUTH 4: LOVE STORY (of Bethlehem) AND MIRACLE SON (Obed) – “The Lord granted conception to her and she gave birth to a son” (v. 13, Matthew 1:5, Matthew 1:21, Psalm 36:21).

Vocabulary words: Naomi (naomi) = pleasant/delight. Mara (mara) = bitter. Ruth (ruth – with trills) = friendship (especially female friends). Favor (khane) = grace, unmerited goodness. Family redeemer (ga al) = to redeem, buy back, make right.
