Shri Suman Bhattacharya introduces the sociocultural relevance that Kirtan holds in its history. One of the most revered indigenous musical forms of Bengal, Kirtan is an important part of the Gaudiya Vaishnavism philosophy, inspired by Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.
