During February 2025, KiwiRail's new prototype DM class were put through their paces along the Main North Line from Christchurch to Scargill. On one of these occasions, we follow class leader DM 8012 hauling 15 loaded coal wagons & DXB 5074 added as dead weight as it worked along the MNL and up the Scargill Bank. Here the DM will do various tests along the steepest part of the bank, before returning to Christchurch with the DXB leading, enjoy!
