Especially when using the front brake. It's good practice to check your brake pads for wear ever so often and even a good idea to check your brake rotor once in a while to see if it has any warp or grooves dug into it. A good way to indicate if it need replaced is if you can put your finger nails in the grooves. In this helpful tutorial by Steve Knoble of Knoble Moto, you will learn how to remove your front brake rotor and replace it.
