🌅 3 AM Start – The Ride Begins!
The ride kicked off at 3 AM, under the streetlights of Kolkata, with the city still asleep. There's something special about riding at this hour—the roads are empty, the air is crisp, and the thrill of the journey ahead keeps you awake. The first stretch of the ride was smooth, with the Bajaj Dominar gliding effortlessly through the highways.
Leaving Kolkata behind, I hit NH-12 (formerly NH-34), one of the longest highways in West Bengal. This route is notorious for traffic during the day, but at this early hour, it was mostly clear, allowing me to maintain a good pace.
🏍 The Long Highway Ride – Kolkata to North Bengal
The first few hours were spent cruising through the highways of Murshidabad and Malda. These areas have a mix of fast-moving roads, occasional rough patches, and multiple bridges crossing the Ganges and other rivers. I made quick stops for chai breaks, stretching my legs and soaking in the sunrise.
By mid-morning, traffic started to pick up, especially near towns and market areas. However, with steady riding and some careful overtaking, I managed to maintain a good speed. The Dominar 400 handled the roads brilliantly, offering power, comfort, and stability—a true tourer’s machine!
Riding through Malda and Raiganj, I noticed a shift in the landscape. The air started feeling fresher, the roads had more greenery around them, and I could sense that I was getting closer to North Bengal’s stunning landscapes.
