Video Not Working? Fix It Now

Join Mark Johnson as he demonstrates Krishna Reddy's viscosity printing process, using Reddy’s original Clown Dissolving plate. Mark Johnson was a graduate student of Reddy’s at New York University from 1988 to 1990. He went on to co-teach Reddy’s Advanced Color Printmaking class with him for many years, assisted Reddy in his home studio for over 10 years and worked on the second edition of his book. Johnson printed the original edition of Clown Dissolving, including the impression displayed in Print Center New York's Krishna Reddy exhibition. Johnson reprinted the same plate to produce this video. This video and the proof created is also on view in the exhibition. Krishna Reddy: Heaven in a Wildflower is the first monographic exhibition in New York on the late Indian artist in over 40 years. Curated by Sarah Burney, Heaven in a Wildflower brings together over 50 prints alongside key sculptures, ephemera, and working materials demonstrating Reddy’s material and conceptual approach to the groundbreaking viscosity printmaking technique he developed in the 1950s and 60s. Video created by Mark Johnson and Avery Munson Clark for Krishna Reddy: Heaven in a Wildflower. The exhibition is on view at Print Center New York in the Jordan Schnitzer Gallery from January 23–May 21, 2025.
