This time, instead of using the ropeway, we walked up from Kunouyamashita. There are 1,159 steps from the stone torii gate (Kunouzan Toshogu Ichino Torii) on the lower side of Kunouyamashita.The view of Suruga Bay from the Ichinomon gate at the top of the 909 steps is spectacular. You can also see the Izu Peninsula and Omaezaki. At the end of the stone steps, you will see the shrine pavilions of Kunouzan Toshogu (a national treasure), and marvel at their gorgeous appearance.
