Kyoto(京都) is a city rich in history and culture, often considered the cultural heart of Japan. Located in the Kansai region, it was the capital of Japan for over a thousand years. One of Kyoto's most iconic landmarks is the Kinkaku-ji(金阁寺), also known as the Golden Pavilion. This Zen temple, covered in gold leaf, reflects beautifully on the surrounding pond, creating a serene and picturesque scene that is especially stunning during the autumn and winter seasons. Another significant temple is Fushimi Inari-taisha(伏见稻荷大社), famous for its thousands of red torii gates that form a path up the sacred Mount Inari. This shrine is dedicated to Inari, the Shinto god of rice and agriculture, and is one of the most important shrines in Kyoto.
