Take the cable car from Hieizan Sakamoto in Kyoto down the mountain from the side of Lake Biwa. Here, there is a small yet exquisite Japanese garden—Kyu chikurin-in. Many people spend a lot on tickets to reserve Ruriko-in in Kyoto just to take a reflection photo of the garden, but here you can do it for very little cost, without waiting in line, and you can take as long as you want.
The Sakamoto area where the Old Bamboo Forest Temple is located also has historical sites like Hiyoshi Taisha and the family tomb of the Warring States general Akechi Mitsuhide at Saikyo-ji. After visiting the historical sites, you can easily change your mood by going to the lakeside of Lake Biwa to enjoy the breeze.
After touring Enryaku-ji on Hieizan, you can also stop by to take beautiful photos, making it a win-win situation.
