Let's not forget the Legendary Lalo Guerrero one of the greatest Parody Singer there ever was.
Lalo Guerrero got a lot of his talent from his Mother, she was very good in playing the guitar and taught him how to play. She also taught him to embrace the spirit of being Chicano.
Lalo Guerrero soon began to start writing his own songs. He left his hometown to pursue his dream in music. In time Lalo exceeded beyond his wildest dreams as a Musician, Writer and Preformer.
Lalo was a great Singer of songs in English and Spanish, old ballads and many songs in which he had written. He even wrote Children's songs presented via his "Las Ardillitas," or "Three Little Squirrels". I personally love his comical parody tunes they are my favorite such as Pancho Claus, Elvis Perez, There's No Tortillas, The Gay Ranchero, No way, Jose and many others full of lots of fun and laughter.
Lalo was also a great performer and had a few uncredited roles in movies, including "Boot's And Saddles" and "His Kind Of Woman". He Also performed at the La Bamba club in Hollywood, a place frequented by the biggest stars in the movie business. Lalo Guerrero is a well known legend as the Father of the Chicano Music.
Lalo Guerrero was officially declared a national folk treasure by the Smithsonian Institution and was presented with the National Medal of Arts by then United States President Bill Clinton. He received the National Heritage Award from the [National Endowment of the Arts]. Lalo Guerrero was posthumously inducted into the Arizona Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame. Along with that he was also inducted into the Tejano Hall of Fame and the Mariachi Hall of Fame.
I will forever love Lalo Guerrero and cherish his wonderful gifts that he has shared with the world. He will always be remembered as the Father of the Chicano Music. Love you Lalo Guerrero Rest In Peace with the angels.
