The OregonFlora program, based at Oregon State University, offers a wealth of information about the 4,700+ distinct vascular plants that grow in our state. Linda will share how native plant species fit into Oregon’s ecosystems, and how you can use this knowledge to select natives appropriate for your site. Linda Hardison is the director of OregonFlora and a research assistant professor in the Dept. of Botany & Plant Pathology at Oregon State University. Linda guides the OregonFlora program in its mission to share information about Oregon’s plant diversity, largely through the production of a state flora in both book format and as an interactive website. She and her partner are in the process of restoring a native landscape on 19 acres of reseeded clear cut by removing invasive species, diversifying the trees, and planting native plants.
