Speaker No. 1362 Design Comission Scope
Includes:
1. All funds in CAD currency
2. Physical design to match physical size and be inspired by TAD TD-2404
3. Horn flare geometry to use ES-curvature where possible
4. Joseph Crowe to purchase JBL 2265G-1 bass driver from 'The Speaker Exchange' for actual testing in demo bass cabinet
5. Joseph Crowe to Modify 2265G-1 for 16ohm operation
6. Use B&C DCX-464-16 for mid-high coverage
7. Crossover design including electrical schematic, BOM, part number list
8. Test results including frequency response, phase response, step response, burst decay, off-axis polar map
9. Bass cabinet uses traditional reflex alignment and constructed using manual wood working methods
10. Bass cabinet and horn assumes use of 24mm thick baltic birch plywood
11. Stand Design
12. Design review meetings (Google Meet, or Messenger) sharing Solidworks screen
13. Design is for personal use only (commercial license available separately)
Specification:
1. 16 ohm nominal system impedance
2. 750w RMS
3. Frequency Range (-10 dB): 35 Hz Frequency Response (±3 dB): 40 Hz - 20kHz
4. Maximum System SPL2 : 126 dB
5. Predicted weight per cabinet: 36 kg (80 lb) (not including stand)
6. Physical Size: 660mm x 798mm x 614mm (HxWxD) (not including stand)
Passive Crossover
Design into the crossover replaceable shunt resistors to allow for some flexibility...
Option A) Bi-Amp Mode between the LF & HF, no padding on HF (109.7dB sensitivity on HF)
Option B) Bi-Amp Mode same as above except -10dB fixed resistor L-pad circuit (to avoid AC Mains hum from HF amplifier(s)) (99.7dB Sensitivity on HF)
Option C) Single Amp Mode with -15dB fixed resistor L-Pad on HF to match attenuation with LF level (95dB@1watt system sensitivity)
Documentation Includes:
1. PDF Drawings for bass cabinet (Assembly and detail drawings for each panel)
2. 3D CAD files for entire speaker in any global file format (.iges, .step, .parasolid, .STL etc.)
3. AutoCAD dwg 2D files for bass cabinet
4. Crossover Schematic PDF format
5. Crossover board assembly drawing with wiring path
Lead Time 12 weeks from date of order
Excludes CAM programming (can be quoted separately)
