Supply List:
-macrame cord or rope of choice. Use cotton for the safety of hot items being placed on trivets. See the below pattern for options.
-knitting needles. See sizing in the pattern below
-leather tags if desired
-embroidery thread and needle to sew on the tag
-larger crochet hooks size 6-10mm for making hanging loops and sewing in ends
KNITTED POT HOLDER / TRIVET PATTERN
Depending on what cord or rope you are using will determine the number of cast-on stitches and size of needles to create approx. 8.5” (21.6cm) square.
All cords or ropes the same method.
Cast on below amount of stitches
Row 1: slip 1st and last stitch. The remainder of the stitches are knit
Row 2: purl 1st and last stitch. The remainder of the stitches are knit
Repeat rows 1 & 2 until you have almost a square ending on a purl row.
Cast off and use a crochet hook to make a loop and weave in ends.
I used a dark grey twisted macrame cord. Says it's a 3mm but more like a 4 or 5mm.
-I used 40 yds but allowed for 45 yds of cord
-6mm needles
-40” for long cast on and cast on 21 sts
Tenn Well braided cotton twine I used. Says its 5mm but more like a 4mm
-I used 23 yds but allowed for 28 yds of cord
-6mm needles
-40” for long cast on and cast on 21 sts
1/4 braided sash cord that is used for making rope bowls
-I used 25yds but allow for 30yds
-9mm needles
-40” for long cast on and cast on 13 sts
Temu grey braided cord 6mm thickness
-I used 36yds but allow for 40 yds
-8mm needles
-40” for long cast on and cast on 18 sts
