Isabella fulfills her wish to have children at the age of 54 despite criticism. She wants to be strong for her daughter Philippa, but comments about her mother's age remain an issue that concerns both of them.

Isabella consciously decided to become a mother again - at over 50. "It was a heartfelt wish," says the 66-year-old. Daughter Philippa is now eleven years old. Although Isabella already had adult children from previous relationships, she and her husband absolutely wanted to have a child together. The path to this goal was not easy: They tried to get pregnant for ten years. Finally, it worked with the help of artificial insemination. A path she has never regretted. But late motherhood remains an issue that Isabella keeps coming back to – and is often confronted with. "In primary school, I was asked whether I was the mother or the grandmother," she says. Nevertheless, Isabella does not regret her decision. The challenges that late motherhood brings with it have also brought her and her family closer together. Isabella used to work around the clock, often spending too little time with her children, as she self-critically admits. When Philippa was born, she consciously decided to be a full-time mother. Isabella has changed: she is now more anxious and cautious in many things. But she enjoys spending time with Philippa, whether shopping or doing things together, and hopes to experience as many important moments in her daughter's life as possible.
