This algorithm operates synchronously, with each node pitching itself as a potential leader by forwarding messages to neighbors. The node with the highest UID becomes the leader, signaling the end of the election. The simplicity and effectiveness of the LCR algorithm lie in its asynchronous nature and minimal assumptions. Despite its communication complexity of order n square, it is suitable for smaller distributed networks.
