ජයනන්ද හැට හැවිරිදි වියේ පසුවන අතර ඔහු පෞද්ගලික ආයතනයක විධායක නිලධාරියෙකු ලෙස සේවය කරයි. ජයනන්ද සහ ඔහුගේ බිරිඳ නෙතාලි තම විවාහක දියණිය, ඇගේ සැමියා සහ දරුවන් දෙදෙනා සමඟ ජීවත් වන අතර ඉතා සතුටින්, නොසැලකිලිමත් ජීවිතයක් ගත කරති. එක් රාත්‍රියක ඔහු තම බිරිඳ සමඟ රිය පදවන විට ඔහුගේ නොසැලකිලිමත්කම නිසා ඔහුගේ වාහනය තවත් වාහනයක ගැටෙයි. අනෙක් මෝටර් රථයේ ගමන් කළේ උපේන්ද්‍ර සහ වීණා යන තරුණ යුවළකි. අනතුර සිදු වන විට වීනා ප්‍රසූතියට ආසන්නව සම්පූර්ණ දරුවෙකු රැගෙන සිටි අතර අනතුර හේතුවෙන් ඇය නිසල දරුවෙකු බිහි කරයි.
වසර ගණනාවක් දරු උපතක් අපේක්ෂාවෙන් සිටි උපේන්ද්‍ර සහ වීණා දැඩි කම්පනයකට පත් වූහ. දින තුන හතරක් ඇතුළත තම ජීවිතය මෙතරම් සරු කර ගන්නට තිබූ, නොසැලකිලිමත්කම නිසා සජීවී පිබිදෙන ළදරුවෙකු අහිමි කළ ජයනන්දට එරෙහි ඔවුන්ගේ කෝපය අසීමිත විය. ඔවුන් ඔහුව මිනීමරුවෙකු ලෙස සැලකූ අතර, දරුවන්ට අතිශයින් ඇලුම් කළ ජයනන්ද තමා වගකිව යුතු රිය අනතුරක බිහිසුණු ප්‍රතිඵලය නිසා දැඩි වේදනාවෙන් පෙළුණි.

The occupants of the other car were a young couple Upendra and Veena. Veena was carrying a full- rm baby close to giving birth when the accident happened and due to the accident she gives birth to a still- Born child.
upendra and Veena who were eagerly anticipating the birth of a child for several years were devastated. Their Anger against Jayananda, whose negligence deprived them of a lively bouncing baby, who would have so enriched their lives within three to four days was boundless.
