These techniques will help you eliminate unwanted string noise while playing. By the way, don't miss Part 1 of the Masterclass (Pick Holding, Wrist and Guitar Positioning): https://youtu.be/v9RIjw8psHo If you LOVE high gain, crunchy tones, but struggle to keep the strings from screeching like a banshee, or things just aren't as whistle-clean as you want them to be... This is for you. In this video, I'll teach you the same muting techniques that professional guitarists use. Whether you play acoustic, electric, or bass guitar, these techniques will help you get that clean and crisp sound you're looking for. One of the key techniques I'll be discussing is the "rolling technique" for right hand muting, using the hypothenar area of your hand. This technique allows you to effectively mute strings below the one you're playing. Then we'll talk about combining this with left hand muting and how to use your first finger to mute the higher strings, ensuring clean and precise playing. As usual, I'm going to provide a few bonus tips for reducing string noise like how to avoid sounding the strings during pull off and eliminating something I call "thumb dragging". Mastering muting techniques is a key factor in getting that professional and polished sound. By using these techniques I'm about to show you, you'll minimize the need for tools like fret wraps or excessive editing. I encourage you to watch the entire video and try out these muting techniques in your own playing. Share your experiences and results in the comments — I'd love to hear how they work for you!
