Leaf mold or leaf litter is a pile of fallen tree leaves that is broken down by fungi in a course of a year to several years depending on the material of the leaves. The material left over is a great soil conditioner or mulch that holds one-hundred times its weight in water. I have not been able to make leaf mold until this year and I am exploring ways to see if I can speed up the process without making leaf compost. #growyourownfood #urbanbeekeeping #urbangarden
