Join award-winning artist, author, educator, and scientist John Muir Laws—a true “Fun-Guy!”—for a 2+ hour class where he will share his best tips and tricks for drawing and painting mushrooms learned through his 40 years of teaching and illustrating. (And GOOD NEWS: This recording includes a BONUS lesson on how to paint mushrooms that we added after the live class.)

Mushrooms are a fascinating subject, and learning how to draw and paint them will also help you learn and practice some fundamental skills that you can apply to drawing all sorts of things including: thinking three-dimensionally, simplifying structure, understanding perspective and foreshortening, how shadow reveals form, and the order of operations to paint a portrait with watercolor.

All ages and levels welcome. And invite your friends—there is “mushroom” for everyone!

This class is offered for free and was held as a fundraiser for the Wild Wonder Foundation, which is dedicated to encouraging nature connection and conservation through attention, curiosity, art, science, and community. If you are able to make a donation to help support future free classes, please do so at https://www.wildwonder.org/donate
