Video Not Working? Fix It Now

Fitting directional LED lighting to your older locomotives makes a huge improvement – and it isn’t difficult. Following on from my basic DCC conversion video (https://youtu.be/eVmsg0i2UWc), I show how to install cheap, bog-standard 3mm bulb LEDs to a late 80s' Hornby Class 37, wire them to my new DCC lighting circuit and how to select the best resistor for the most realistic brightness - in the end a 118,000 ohm one. Tips along the way include using SUGRU mouldable glue to stick the LEDs in place, working out which direction is which, resistor testing with my custom-made rig https://youtu.be/vXCMHpEcoSI and adding the finishing touches using just regular PVA glue. 0:00 Intro 0:20 Removing the Class 37 body 0:54 DCC socket 1:02 Link to socket fitting video 1:18 Fitting the LEDs 3:11 LEAVE TO DRY 3:15 Direction testing 4:56 Brightness and resistor testing 6:40 Wiring the LEDs 9:02 Wiring the DCC socket 10:10 Testing 10:39 Replacing the body 10:53 Testing on the track 11:04 Tweaking the brightness 11:26 Changing to the 118K resistor 11:55 Finishing touches 12:20 Loco lights in action
