Note: S1 is NAKENDRA GORDON and S2 is CAMERON CARSON Trooper's Report: On February 22, 2025, approximately 10:54AM, I (TFC. Byrd) was patrolling Interstate 630 westbound near University Ave. While patrolling westbound, I observed a gold Honda Accord displaying Arkansas AXN75P (V1), traveling in the middle lane. As V1 passed me, I observed both the driver (S1) and front seat passenger (S2) not wearing seatbelts. Along with that, upon running the vehicle registration through ACIC, it showed V1 to have no liability insurance. Due to these violations, I initiated a traffic stop on V1. V1 failed to yield to my emergency equipment and began speeding as we approached the 6A exit. V1 reached speeds into the 80's as we approached the 6B exit. Once V1 failed to slow and exit at the 6B, I called pursuit. We continued westbound passed the Baptist Health exit. At this point, V1 made an unsafe lane change cutting a vehicle off while following another vehicle too closely. Once V1 passed the 8A exit, I moved to the right at a wide angle to confirm the roadway in front of V1 was clear. Having confirmed this, I moved closer to V1's right rear bumper and performed a successful Tactical Vehicle Intervention (TVI). This caused V1 to veer to the right striking the concrete barrier and sliding along the wall. After striking the wall, S2 opened the front passenger door holding a rifle and backpack in his hands. Immediately after getting his hands out the door, S2 tossed the backpack and rifle over a concrete barrier and fled on foot. S1 stayed with V1 and was taken into custody without further incident. S2 fled westbound on I630 and crossed the median underneath the flyover between Interstate 630 and 430 heading toward Baptist Health. Trp. Cass and Sgt. Monroe located S2, taking him into custody without further incident on the Baptist Health exit ramp. Sgt. Monroe transported S2 back to the scene where I was located. Trp. Cass helped recover the evidence S2 tampered with when he threw it over the barrier. Inside the backpack I located approximately 5.5 ounces of marijuana. The firearm recovered was a Diamondback AR .556, serial number DB2201460. S2 was also in possession of two pills that were identified as a Schedule I illegal substance. S1 and S2 had a court ordered protection order where S1 was the protected party. S2 violated this order by being with S1. S1 and S2 were transported to Baptist Health where they were cleared medically then transported to the Pulaski County Jail.
