In today’s video, I take you to The Battle on the Beach, the UK’s largest off-road cycling event, held annually at the stunning Pembrey Country Park in South Wales. This one-of-a-kind race challenges riders with a mix of beach riding, gravel, doubletrack, and technical singletrack trails, making it a thrilling adventure for cyclists of all kinds.
Watch to find out what its like to go head-to-head with 1,000 riders on the expansive sands of Cefn Sidan Beach, tackling gravel road, and weaving through fast-paced singletrack trails.
But this event isn’t just about the winning. After a restless night struggling with the temptation to compare myself to past performances and fellow competitors, I had a breakthrough: Comparison is the thief of joy.
Instead of chasing victory, I set myself two simple goals:
