Ms. Katsuno was born in 1995 in Izu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. She has loved handcrafting since she was young. She grew up in an environment which fostered her craftsmanship and her mother always said, "You want to do something – do it. You don't want to – don't do it." In her last year of high school, she fell in love with the world of design where one may develop logical thinking. She joined the Shizuoka University of Art and Culture where she encountered various aspects of design and numerous other fields of study. After graduating, she opened
Shuzenji Tsubame-sha, a gift shop & design studio business, which originates from a project she was involved in during her time at university. Her goal is to create activities with roots in the local community and she has been working to make a more lively community.
