Let’s Play Rhythm Sticks with Miss Caitlin! This compilation video is full of rhythm stick songs and nursery rhymes for children! This preschool music class teaches some of my favorite rhythm stick songs for children. Rhythm sticks are perfect for children, particularly toddler, preschool and kindergarten age, but kids of any age will enjoy tapping along. Rhythm sticks are a perfect first musical instrument for a toddler or preschooler because they can easily hold onto the sticks. This music class video teaches rhythm in a playful way with nursery rhymes and songs to tap along.
These songs would be great to incorporate into elementary music lessons, especially for the kindergarten or preschool age groups, but even 1st graders may enjoy playing together. Some of the songs featured in this music class are I’m Gonna Tap my sticks, This is the way we tap our sticks, Tick tock goes the clock, Let’s Make a Pizza, Let’s Make a Pie, and Two Little Sticks Go Tap Tap Tap. This class also includes two movement breaks to dance around to This Way That a Way and Jump Around!
If you are looking to build a strong musical foundation and value music education for toddlers and preschoolers, this is an excellent place to start. This class encourages playing a steady beat, playing and stopping, as well as exploring different ways to play - loud and quiet, fast and slow.
