There are few conferences that share the depth of history and oftentimes sheer midwestern pettiness that is found within the rivalries of the Big Ten Conference. Games like Ohio State-Michigan, Minnesota-Wisconsin, and Purdue-Indiana have helped to create one of the most interesting environments in college sports, no matter the week or sport.
Today I'll be examining a small handful of these rivalries and ranking them in a tier list system according to my opinion on how vibrant they are as rivalries in 2024. Since this is my opinion and I have no real strong connection to the Big Ten or any of its teams (other than Purdue, but that's a long story), I'm definitely going to get some of these wrong. I know the tone of the video is conversational, and that's because I'm not in a position to really put my feet down on any of these rivalries.
