How do adults with special needs deal with relationships and getting married? Can they hold regular jobs? What if they get in trouble with the law? These are the kinds of issues that 33-year-old Aidah and her mother must deal with, with the help of social workers from the Association for People with Special Needs (APSN).
Aidah, who has a lower-than-average IQ as well as physical disabilities, has been working at inclusive employer Burger King for more than 5 years, but never dared tell her colleagues about her disabilities for fear they'd stop being friends.
Her mother, meanwhile, worries about whether Aidah can handle independence - given her penchant for spending instead of saving money.
