Line Boring & Bore Welding Caterpillar 730 Dump Truck A-frame Eye | Part 2 | Sir Meccanica WS2

Video Not Working? Fix It Now

This video is Part 2 of line boring and bore welding a Caterpillar 730 Articulated Dump Truck A-frame that has a badly worn eye causing the bushing to be loose. We are using our Sir Meccanica WS2 portable in-line boring and bore welding machine. The A-frame eye is now ready for bore welding to build up new material before line boring out to spec, facing the eye surfaces and machining chamfers. We then clean up the A-frame eye before drilling in the retaining plate bolt holes and cryo freeze shrink fitting the new bushing using liquid nitrogen. The repair is finished off with giving it a coat of Caterpillar yellow paint ready to go straight back on the machine. Missed Part 1?
