How would it feel if there was an energy source that made us no longer have to think about paying expensive electricity bills every month?
The refrigerator is always on, the AC is cold 24 hours, charging the cellphone never stops, until the water pump sucks as much as it wants... all without fear of the bill going up.
Like a dream household, right? Well, now it turns out that this energy source can not only make a house cool and peaceful, but a country like Indonesia can live comfortably without fear of another electricity crisis. Forever.
What's even crazier is that Indonesia actually has a lot of raw materials, called Thorium.
If thorium works, Indonesia can be like a country that stops using expensive fuel, turns off coal-fired power plants that are already smelly, then replace all of that with clean, cheap, safe energy, and last until your children and grandchildren have great-grandchildren.
But the point is, don't be happy yet, the people need to be careful, we need to supervise, don't let thorium, which is said to be the energy of the future, just become a field for corruption today.
Don't be surprised if suddenly the projects are big, the budget is in the trillions, but in the end it's just a feast for certain individuals who are busy sharing out quotas.
Cheap electricity never comes, all there is is news of old-style corruption, but packaged with new technology.
In fact, this is a rare opportunity. If we are careless, corruptors will party, the people will just watch.
Thorium is just a name, electricity is still expensive, and our future is being sabotaged from within.
So... the question now is not just "What is Thorium?", but "Why didn't we start yesterday?".
