During the Senate Judiciary Committee's confirmation hearing on Wednesday, U.S. attorney general nominee Pam Bondi was questioned by Senator John Kennedy, R-La.

Kennedy claimed that both Democrats and Republicans have "a lot of ambitious prosecutors." Much of the senator's allocated time was devoted to pleading with the nominee to "restore legitimacy" to the Justice Department and "resist the temptation" to use the agency to attack political adversaries.
