Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, representing the Uttar Pradesh government, raised the issue of halal certification of non-meat products in the Supreme Court on Monday. He asked why non-believers should be made to pay higher costs for halal-certified products. Mehta said he was “shocked” to see products other than meat certified as halal — attesting that the products meet the requirements of Islamic law. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah sparked controversy for his remarks regarding rape cases in the state. Speaking about a recent gang-rape incident near Bengaluru’s KR Market area, where a 37-year-old woman accused two men of assaulting her and stealing her phone and money, Siddaramaiah asked, “Have there been no rapes during the BJP tenure?” #halalfood #uttarpradesh #uttarpradeshnews #karnataka #siddaramaiah #karnatakalatestnews #news18live #news18 n18oc_live n18oc_india News18 Mobile App - https://onelink.to/desc-youtube
