Meet Khrystyna Ivanivna Bortnyuk, born on March 30, 1941, in the village of Smidyn. For the past 27 years, she has lived alone after her husband passed away at the age of 64. Despite her solitude, Khrystyna manages her household entirely on her own. When needed, relatives and neighbors step in to offer help however they can.
She is independent enough to visit the store, the local post office, or neighbors by herself. At home, she finds company in her beloved cat and enjoys listening to the radio. Khrystyna is a warm, communicative, and sincere woman who is always open to conversation.
In this video, she shares her daily life in the village, preparing delicious homemade dumplings (varenyky) and showcasing her stunning cross-stitch embroidery, which she treasures deeply. A touching story of resilience, independence, and creative passion.
