I live and work in Yangon Myanmar so I can bring you content and insights drop-in YouTubers can not In this heartfelt and eye-opening video, join me as I explore the picturesque township of Kalaw in Shan State, Myanmar. Despite the town's undeniable charm and beauty, tourism has drastically declined, leaving locals and businesses struggling. I visit a local hair salon and the unique Tokyo Cafe, where I chat with a young entrepreneur about his plans to leave Myanmar for new opportunities. At nearly 60 years old, I’ve fallen in love with Myanmar and believe I’m living my best life here. Yet, it’s disheartening to see how fear has kept international visitors away, negatively impacting the wonderful people trying to switch from rural farming to tourism. This video includes honest conversations and reflections on the safety and potential of travelling to Myanmar. If you’ve ever wondered whether it’s safe to visit Myanmar, or if you’re curious about life here, this video is for you. Let’s explore Kalaw together and see what this beautiful but struggling town has to offer.
