Some have seen the course of their lives change after reading The Stranger or The Myth of Sisyphus, others draw energy from it every day, and still others worship it. A surprise guest in this documentary, singer Patti Smith confides that she often returns to Camus when she stops touring and isolates herself to write new songs. These sensitive testimonies allow us to draw the outlines of a work that has never ceased to place man at the center, a man confronted with the disorder of the modern world, who seeks tirelessly – and with lucidity – to give meaning to his life. Without knowing it, these enthusiasts pay Camus the most beautiful tribute a writer could hope for: to see his words come to life.
Mixing meetings with readers, archives and excerpts from readings of texts, the film asserts itself as a journey of discovery in the work of Camus.
