Steam against the gradient to Ais Gill summit. The Cumbrian Mountain Express. Stanier Black 5 No 45407 (running in the guise of long scrapped classmate 44996) takes on the Long Drag with 10 coaches plus a class 67 on the rear providing ETH only. This video which was filmed on the 23rd October 2004 starts from Birkett Common & with the exception of editing out some of the running time inside Birkett tunnel is a continuous 16 minute clip to Ais Gill summit.
