*** Update - Since the time this video was released, a follow-up video was produced showing the modifications needed to make the Avtron SLS-10 fully compatible/functionable with my Onan gensets that were configured for 240 vac 1 phase as well as a demonstration. The link to the latest video is here ----

This video shows my first time load bank testing of an Onan DJC and Onan JB using an Avtron SLS-10 load bank (also known as ASCO Avtron 2300 load bank) simulator. I purchased the unit used for $300 on Facebook Marketplace. The Avtron SLS-10 load bank is rated to produce loads up to 10 kw at 240 vac 1 phase. Both my Onans are configured to generate 240 vac 1 phase and are connected to the house waiting for any and all grid outages. While waiting for a grid outage which can be months, it is strongly advised to periodically exercise the generators loaded which will cause a lot of inconvenience to members inside the house by switching from grid to backup/standby generators and back to the grid. Using the load bank, I can easily simulate loads without affecting the house and causing unnecessary inconvenience to members inside the house while controlling the load all from within the generator room.
