Join us this academic year for an unmissable series of Inaugural Lectures to recognise, celebrate and showcase the achievements of our newest professors in UCL Engineering!

Watch this recording to explore ground-breaking research that is shaping the future and transforming the world!

In this inaugural lecture, Julius reflects on his eclectic yet unsurprising journey in which he finds himself restlessly concerned about the governance and development implications of technologies and innovations. This lecture departs from reflections on early childhood encounters with agency, proximity and positionality, and a quest to know not only the ‘what’ but also ‘how not so’ and ‘why not so’. The lecture will illuminate how Julius’s career via education in the life sciences, veterinary research, the pharmaceutical industry and the broader science-technology-and-society interface, sets the intellectual constructs for his current and future research, knowledge exchange and teaching interests in innovation and development broadly and specifically health innovation and public policy.
