Video Not Working? Fix It Now

My first experiment using a PLA 3d printed ring with my lost wax casting technique.

This is not the way that 'professional "Jewelsmith's" would do this but it was just an experiment for myself to try. I don't have all the fancy equipment but I was able to make a fun ring for my son. I have received some tips about using different 3D printer filament (ABS) and coating the print with some stuff to smooth it out and I'm excited to try that.

I used Merlin gold (fake gold) for this cast. It's cheap and easy to use. I did melt it down into an ingot before the casting (and because Minecraft) in order to get some of the junk out of the cheap material first. You can also mix in other metals to create an alloy. I would like to play with that more!

I filmed the process and I hope you enjoy it!

This is by no means a professional demo of how to do this. There are plenty of other videos out there showing that. This is not something I specialize in but just do it for fun. A lot of material is wasted during this process since I do this with teenagers and old equipment but they have fun learning and trying out new stuff.

I made this video for kids that needed a quick reminder or missed the demo that day in the shop.
